Police say they have arrested and charged a 43 year old Jamaican national who entered this country illegally.

Superintendent George Nicholas identified the man as Granville Blake, 43.

Nicholas told reporters at a news conference Monday that law enforcement officials charged Blake Sunday for entering this country at an unauthorised port of entry and disembarking without the consent of an immigration officer.

A bail hearing was scheduled for Monday.

Police disclosed last week that they had encountered Blake at an establishment in Gros Islet and placed him in quarantine, after investigating a report that he had arrived in Saint Lucia through the back door.

They laid charged against him on his release from the facility where he has spent ‘some time’.
