Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) Micoud North candidate, Jeremiah Norbert, announced Sunday that doctors in Martinique were unable to save his leg.
Norbert made the announcement on Facebook.
The former police officer sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident last month.
As a result, he travelled to Martinique after initially receiving medical care here.
However, while disclosing that the doctors were unable to save his leg, an upbeat Norbert said it was by no means a hindrance or deterrent for ‘the journey I have embarked on.’
“I want to reassure my constituents of Micoud North that Jeremiah Norbert is going to be their next representative at the next general elections,” he asserted.
And Norbert said there’s no doubt about it.
The SLP candidate explained that he had put his trust in God.
He expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support he has received.
According to the SLP candidate, that outpouring was one of the reasons he has been able to accept his situation.
“Your love and support is what has kept me going,” Norbert stated.
He revealed that his healing process is going well.
In addition, although he expected to be in Martinique for a few more weeks, Norbert said he looks forward to returning home to continue his journey.
“We need to take self away from the politics and put the people first, and that is what Jeremiah Norbert is about,” he stated.
