Caribbean airline LIAT has denied reports on social media that the carrier has cancelled flights to Dominica.
The reports have asserted that LIAT cancelled its flights due to ‘political tension’ in Dominica which is preparing for general elections on Friday.
“LIAT wishes to advise that all of its scheduled flights are operating into and out of the Douglas Charles Airport, Dominica. No flights have been cancelled,” a statement on the airline’s official Facebook page stated.
“There have been false reports circulating via social media that the airline has been cancelling services to Dominica. LIAT flights are operating and passengers are advised to check in on time for their flights,” according to the travel advisory issued Tuesday morning.
