Life In Jail For Saint Lucian Who Killed Mother And Two Children In Martinique

A Saint Lucian man who murdered a mother and her two young children in Martinique has been sentenced to life in jail.

The French Prosecutor has requested that the perpetrator be sent to Saint Lucia to serve the sentence.

Kerry Ferdinand, 36, was found guilty of slitting the throats of Leila Laviolette and her two boys aged 3 and 6 on September 18, 2017.

Ferdinand was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Assize Court of Fort-de-France on Monday, September 14, 2020.

“” I’m so sorry, ” he told the court with tears in his eyes, according to local news reports.

Martinique 1ere said Ferdinand was dating Leila Laviolette over a period of two years and was taking care of her children.

According to the publication, Ferdinand’s relationship with Laviolette, a teacher, was an extra-marital affair.

On the night of the murder, she told him there was a new man in her life.

The revelation came after she and Ferdinand had been separated for about a month.

However, Ferdinand flew into a fit of rage and slit the woman’s throat with a knife, before turning the weapon on her two young children who suffered the same fate.

According to information, after committing the brutal crime Ferdinand visited a Witch Doctor with a request that magic be used to clear him of the murder.

But the Witch Doctor told the police about the crime and led the police to the crime scene.
