‘Mad Crime’ Charged In Hermina Lorde Murder

Police have  charged Michael Pologne, alias ‘Mad Crime’ in connection with the fatal shooting of Hermina Lorde last month.

According to a police statement, officers arrested Pologne on Tuesday about 1.45 pm.

Officers held the suspect in Choiseul during a police operation on Sunday, the statement disclosed.

It noted that investigators formally charged the resident of Vanard, Anse La Raye, on Tuesday.

As a result, Pologne is remanded in custody awaiting case management.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has thanked members of the public for assisting in ‘bringing a resolution to this matter.’

A lone gunman opened fire at Hermia Lorde on March 20, 2021, on Darling Road, Castries, before fleeing.

The fatal shooting occurred in full view of early morning commuters at the Gros Islet bus stand.

At the time of her death, Lorde was the Executive Secretary of the Gros Islet Minibus Association.
