Male Patient Found Hanging In Respiratory Hospital Ward

A probe is underway after the body of a male patient was found hanging in a ward at Saint Lucia’s respiratory hospital.

Medical Director, Dr. Alisha Eugene-Forde, said in a statement that the discovery was made on Wednesday morning.

Eugene-Forde disclosed that the hospital admitted the 54 year old on Monday.

And  he was last seen on Wednesday morning between 3.00 and 3.30 am.

“We noticed that he had passed away or he was hanging, his body was hanging at around 5.30 minutes to 6 this morning,” she explained.

As a result, Eugene-Forde announced that there is an ongoing investigation.

“We are working with our clinical team as well as the police and the family members to find out exactly what happened, ” the Medical Director said.

“We want the public to know that we continue to work together to ensure that the patients that come to the hospital receive the best care that we have available,” she stated.
