Marchand Football League Gets Donation Of Footballs

Press Release:– On 16 September, 2020, Miss Zenith Duncan, teacher at the Bocage Secondary School and an original member of The Marchand Project was present at the Marchand Football League´s Executive meeting. That meeting was the first to commence planning for their annual Hon. Phillip Pierre Cup tournament. 

The Marchand Football League is planning to hold the Football Tournament amongst their respective teams, beginning 6th October 2020, on The Marchand Grounds.

Representative members of Flames, B1, Pavee United, Big Players Football Clubs and the Marchand Veterans Team were present at the Mindoo Phillip Park´s Pavilion to witness and receive the donation of footballs to The League.

The donation, made possible by Lawrence Aimable and The Marchand Project (TMP) was “well received and appreciated as it came on the onset of staging the Hon. Phillip Pierre Cup”; League´s, 2nd Vice President and Women & Youth Coordinator, Miss Emily Remy said on receiving the donated footballs.

Please accept this donation as a first of many possibilities for improvement in the training of your teams and the social standing of Marchand through sports development”; a (timely) presentation to the League´s Executive members by Miss Zenith Duncan of TMP.

The Marchand Project is a group, growing in number and strength, with persons committedly active and interested in social inclusion and development in the Community and St Lucia. TMP team hold a vision of the Marchand Grounds, Mindoo Phillip Park and James A Belgrave Sports Complex space, together transformed into a Sporting Village. They have made it their mission to be effective in the realisation of that vision, so creating the opportunity for continuous sports, physical activity and community resource development in Marchand and ultimately St Lucia.

The Marchand Project extends gratitude to all persons, business places and organisations who made the presenting, finally, possible.

To the Marchand Football League Executive and Clubs, we look forward to further communicating and working together with you in developing the Sport and Youth towards a Marchand that is better for all.
