Martinique Customs on Friday made what has been described as an exceptional seizure of 750 kilos of cocaine.
Shortly after the cocaine bust, law enforcement officials discovered a body off Pointe Faula.
According to local reports, the cocaine seizure occurred about 1.am after Customs Officials conducted a check on a 9 metre long speed boat with two 300 horsepower engines.
It was sailing with its lights turned off.
The vessel had more than 20 bales of cocaine on board, officials say.
A loaded submachine gun was also discovered and confiscated.
Martinique.FranceAntilles which reported on the drug bust, said the two occupants of the vessel, a 44-year-old Martinique national and a 29-year-old Venezuelan were arrested.
Law enforcement authorities later found over 100,000 Euros at the home of the Martinique national.
Both men have been indicted on charges including money laundering, drug trafficking, transporting Class A and B weapons, and criminal conspiracy.
They are currently detained at Ducos penitentiary.
Last month two men were held after the French Navy surveillance frigate, Germinal, seized nearly 300 kilos of cocaine off Martinique during a maritime patrol.
