The Saint Lucia Labour Party has announced the appointment of Maundy Lewis as Communications Officer.
She officially took up duties on Monday.
Her responsibilities include media relations, public engagement and ensuring the media has a more systemic but accessible means of contacting the Saint Lucia Labour Party.
According to a labour party release, Lewis is the Former President of the party’s youth organization and a member of the National Executive Council.
The release described her an entrepreneur who is passionate about poverty alleviation, women empowerment, youth and national development.
“In the pursuit to contribute to her country, she has previously served various organisations including the National Community Foundation, National Independence Standing Committee and the UNFPA Barbados & OECS Youth Advisory Group amongst others,” it was noted.
“As the political party continues to make considerable strides to engage the people of Saint Lucia in an effort to remove the most oppressive government in our nation’s history, Lewis brings to the team her youthful vigour, training in communications and sound knowledge of political and economic affairs,” according to the SLP.
