Mechanical issues force LIAT to divert from St. Kitts

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): On Monday (Oct 31) a late-morning LIAT flight from Antigua was forced to divert as it approached St. Kitts reportedly due to mechanical problems.

Flight 312 returned to Antigua’s VC Bird International Airport just before 12 and passengers safely disembarked.

Reports indicate that technicians changed a part in the aircraft but a caution light still persisted. Up until late Monday afternoon the aircraft remained grounded on the airport tarmac.

Information coming out of Antigua is that arrangements were being made to try to get passengers bound for St. Kitts onto a later flight however those traveling to St Croix will likely have to remain in Antigua until Tuesday.
