Press Release:– The tendering process has been finalized for the construction of a new jetty for the fisher folk of Micoud village.

According to Parliamentary Representative for Micoud North, Hon. Dr. Gale Rigobert, over the last few months the Department of Fisheries, the ones responsible for the project, has been meeting with various stakeholders ahead of the commencement of work.

Dr. Rigobert herself has also been meeting with the various stakeholders.

“I do understand the anxiety of the fisher-folk and persons who trade along the waterfront of the Micoud Village, particularly as we have seen the return of sargassum recently,” Dr. Rigobert explained. “I know that it has been a long process and I want to thank the fisher-folk for their patience. However I would like to assure them that the jetty is coming,” she added.
