Micoud North Gears Up For Huge Job & Career Fair

Press Release:–  Large numbers of young people consisting of recent graduates and unemployed youth are expected to participate in the 2019 Job & Career Readiness Fair scheduled for Wednesday, 10th, July, 2019 at the Mon Repos Combined School.

The event will be the second of its kind following the successful inaugural job fair held in November 2015 at the old Micoud Infant School Annex.

Several partners including businesses, educational institutions, human resource and employment agencies and Government departments participated in the 2015 event.

The revitalized 2019 Micoud North Job & Career Readiness Fair has piqued much interest and promises to be a massive success with the participation and support of approximately forty (40) public and private sector entities as well as successful local entrepreneurs.

The much anticipated Fair is being staged under the theme: ‘Navigating the Pathway of Opportunities’.

The primary target groups include recent graduates from secondary and tertiary institutions (colleges, universities), unemployed youth from the Eastern Districts (in particular), students contemplating career choices (Forms 3 and 4) and persons desirous of a career change or are wanting to study here or overseas.

Parliamentary Representative for Micoud North, Hon. Dr. Gale T C Rigobert who has championed the staging of these Job Fairs in commenting on the upcoming Fair stated: “I am excited and energised by the hype and tremendous response to this year’s event. This is a great encouragement and endorsement of this investment. I know too well from my own experience and knowledge gained over the years, the challenges that young people face in determining career paths (subject or degree choices) and the agony over the right decisions in choosing or accepting a job. Securing a job is not simply producing a resume and application, it is a complexity of factors – aptitude, attitude, self-confidence, attire and comportment. This Job Fair seeks to address all of these factors. Hence the notion of navigating the pathway of opportunities. I am committed to making this an annual event and look forward to partnering with public and private sector agencies and individuals in making this a reality. I wish to thank all our partners who are contributing to this year’s fair, which I am confident will be a massive success”.

The 2019 Job & Career Readiness Fair will feature educational, training and health institutions, financial, manufacturing, civil society and social intervention agencies; local entrepreneurial success stories, technical and career support agencies, Government departments and developmental agencies and many more.

All recent graduates, job seekers, unemployed persons and those wishing to study here or abroad are encouraged to attend this whole day event.

The Micoud North Job & Career Readiness Fair promises to be a comprehensive and enlightening experience for young persons who participate.

There will be attractive prizes awarded throughout the duration of the Fair which ends at 4:00pm. An entertainment segment featuring popular local artistes will follow until 6:30pm.
