Milton Desir who recently proceeded on preretirement leave was back on the job Monday as Deputy Police Commissioner, law enforcement officials have confirmed.
Desir had on September 8, 2020, proceeded on preretirement leave, one day after a farewell reception was held in his honour.
Officials told St Lucia Times Desir was summoned by the Ministry of Home Affairs to report back to duty.
It was not immediately clear why.
Desir will be 55 years old in December when he is set to officially retire from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF).
He is now expected to continue on the job until that time.
Desir spent a little over 35 years in the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), rising through the ranks.
