Minister Says Majority Of Farmers ‘Not Relying’ On WASCO Water

Agriculture Minister Ezechiel Joseph says an investigation has revealed that the ‘large majority’ of Saint Lucian farmers are not relying on water from the Water and Sewerage Company Inc (WASCO).

Saint Lucia is currently in the midst of a water related emergency, declared as of Monday May 18, 2020.

The Agriculture Minister told reporters that a lot of farmers are pumping water from the rivers.

“So as far as the situation with the drought, while it will affect agriculture because around now is our traditional season when it comes to vegetable production, but to have a significant impact when it comes to a lack of water, it is not that critical,” Joseph explained.

  1. Why don’t these Ministers keep quiet. How are farmers pumping water from dry rivers? The reporters need to fact-check these stupid responses.

  2. It’s as good as, “gassa I telling you dat.’ Where are the statistics that proves that assertion.

  3. Wasco is the Worst public Utility Company in the World .Six week I have no water at my Home and I have a Bill of $25.00 to pay Wasco
