Ministry Dispels Claims That 5 Local Fruits Can Cause Illness, Death

Press Release:- The Ministry of Health and Wellness is dispelling information contained in a recent video circulating on social media, that five local fruits can cause illness and death.

Chief Nutritionist with the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Lisa Hunt, maintained that the fruits are safe, and should be consumed as part of a healthy diet.

“There is a video circulating on social media about five local fruits and how they can cause death and illness,” she said. “We assure you that these fruits and vegetables are very beneficial to one’s health, and that to date, there are no deaths or illnesses caused by these fruits.”

The named fruits are papaya, mango, avocado, starfruit and sugar apple.

“These fruits are very beneficial to health,” the Chief Nutritionist continued. “They are high in nutrients, and phytochemicals which help to prevent chronic diseases and damage to cells. Avocado, for example, is eaten all over the world. It helps to reduce bad cholesterol levels and improve the good ones. In fact, research has proven that eating a plant based diet will help combat many chronic diseases that are plaguing us today.”

The Ministry of Health assured the public that it can continue to consume fruits and vegetables because they help to improve health and prevent diseases.


  1. There are a lot of fake news out there these days. The purpose of some is to destroy. Don’t be fooled. Generations survived from the use of those five fruits. The current generation will also. I love sugar apples. This fake news will NOT stop me from eating them.

      Whatever piece of information you put out there, however ludicrous, some people will not only believe it but spread it around and try to convince others it’s true. Apparently they think it shows they know things “not many people know”.

Please for anyone of you Lucians who suffer from what we call gas, burning stomach, ect.. u know what I mean, please make paw-paw or papaya a daily part of your diet, you will chase and cure this after a few months. you still need to consume it though. I use papaya everyday to help with my digestion. i have no problems now after doing research and discovering this. My local people already knew the health power of these foods. sugar apple is a favourite fruit of mine. please consume all local fruits as a regular part of your diet, start destroying the cancer cells from early. dont listen to nonsense.

  3. Wow….. For a small country like ours to loose 10000 persons per year that’s something. Our population has been between150,000 to 170,000 for some time now. Do the math and see that there are no facts to those claims. Stay healthy Luciana.

  6. People of our land, think about it; do you believe that oue heavenly Father will give us contaminated food to eat? over eating, i know can be unhealthy! but not a God given fruit!

  7. The video is true i know of people who died from eating the fruits mentioned. I died once after eating a mango my brother Marcus also died after eating a sugar apple. People stay away from these fruits.

  8. The video was very specific in detailing the chemical composition of each fruit and the negative impact. Our Ministry of Health should learn a lesson and similarly itemize how each fruit contributes to good health

  9. Fantastic nonsence.We are all diffrent,some people can die if they eat a tomato,this dosent mean tomatos are bad.Shrimp kills many people that are alergic to it,still most of us love it.Peanuts and allmonds,the same for some people.Are you a normal healthy person,no allergies?

    You have problems,burps,acid reflux,stomach pains after eatin.
    One hour before having breakfast in the morning with an empty stomach,one flush tea spoon of baking soda,in a glass of water,stir and drink,wash down with more water.If your presure is high this might encrease it be carefull.Because of the salt in the baking soda.
    Before you go to bed every night,at least one hour and a half after eating,another flush spoon of baking soda in water,and wash it down.You will burp and fart a bit.But hey baking soda you buy in any supermarket for two bucks.You will never have any more problems with acid reflux,stomach ulcers,after some three days of doing this,you can keep doing it every time you over eat .I know doctors will hate me.Im killing their bussines,sorry their fraud.Happy burping and farting to all.
