Miss Laborie Credit Union Crowned Carnival Queen

Press Release:– Events Company of Saint Lucia and the Cultural Development Foundation congratulates the eight (8) fabulous young ladies who competed in the 2019 National Queen Pageant.

With a bursting sold out venue on the evening of July 5th, at the Ramp on Rodney Bay, the Queen Pageant came to an end after weeks of preparations by the young ladies who competed for the title of “2019 Carnival Queen.”

The pageant in its 69th year, saw the contestants competing in Swimwear, Talent, Evening Wear, Costume and Interview.

Five judges were task with the responsibility of choosing the next Saint Lucia National Queen and at the end of the evening their decision was final.

 Miss Laborie Credit Union Wenia Verneuil was crowned Saint Lucia’s 2019 Carnival Queen.

With each contestant being asked the same question – Wenia also captured the award for best interview and walked away with the award for best evening wear and best talent.

Miss Hot 7 Timiqua Deterville emerged 1st Runner Up. Tamiqua also received the award for the best in Swimwear Segment and Best in Costume.

2nd Runner Up went to Miss Massy Stores Naomi St. Remy. Naomi also captured the Miss Photogenic Award.

The 3rd runner up went Miss Sugar Beach Shirliana Lamontagne. She was also the recipient of the award for Miss Congeniality.

COO of ECSL – Dr. Greta Cherry, commented, “The Events Company of St. Lucia is extremely proud to be a part of this legacy and looks forward to presenting more quality events for Saint Lucia Carnival.”

Also commenting on this year’s Pageant, Chairperson of the Carnival Queen Pageant Committee, Trevor King said, “We are thrilled at the reviews received for this year’s show, good and bad. It can only get better! We wish to thank all who worked with our committee, especially the chaperones, for their dedication to this process and ensuring that the contestants were well prepared to give a quality performance.”

Talented and witty MCs Tracey George and Amin Floor were the hosts of this year’s pageant.

  2. Congratulations to Wenia I remember when she came 3rd in an armed services pageant a few years ago. She deserved to win that one but I think the judges thought she was to confident. Now see the result when more professional judges at work. Congratulations again keep it up
