Mon Repos Domino Masters Club 4 Hand Domino Rama kicks off

The opening round kicked off on Tuesday, March 21st 2017 at 7:30 pm at Marry Me Disco&Bar, La Pointe Mon Repos.   Thirty-Two (32) impassioned contestants registered on the night to book their names on the golden list of 32 for the April 30th 2017 Grand finals at the M&N’s Bar in Mon Repos

The players mean business as the seasoned participants wasted no time dispatch their opponents to increase their chances of making it to the final table on the night. The usual count down to the final table was as quick as having a very cold Mokaii Cult Shaker.  Thirty-Two (32) turned to the magic number four (4) – The lucky four as the crowd has baptized the final table, in a firm whip from the strong.

The final four table proved to be a family affair by luck of draw. Brothers Thaddeus Gaston and Pius Gaston vs Dave Charlery and Sarah Joseph.   Immediately, the brothers fiercely grabbed the first series 6-4 leaving Dave and Sarah to quickly revise their game plan for the second series. Whatever they did worked like magic as Dave and Sarah angrily avenged their loss with a stunning 6-0 sweep to own the second series. The sweep in the second series lit a fire under the brothers chair as they bravely and patiently outplayed Dave and Sarah with a 6-3 win to be the first ever pair of brothers to qualify for the grand finals together (6-4,0-6, 6-3).  Qualifying winners Pius Gaston and Thaddeus Gaston each received $50.00 as well as Black&White giveaways on the Night.

Second Round, Thursday, March 23rd 2017 at 7:30 pm at Norbie’s Bar Patience, Mon Repos.  Thirty-Six (36) enthusiastic participants registered on the night in a testy attempt to join the elite 32 names schedule for the April 30th 2017 Grand finals at M&N’s Bar, Mon Repos

The final was a battle of the sexes as well as experience vs Youth. Marcus Martelly & Simon Joseph versus Kina Mathurin & Sarah Joseph.  Marcus and Simon were charged with preserving the image of dominoes as a game made for men, and so they did. The series was swift and concise in favor of Marcus Martelly and Simon Henry (6-4, 6-1). On this occasion, the battle of the sexes was won by the men but this war has 14 more rounds to go till the Grand Finals on April 30th 2017 at M&N’s Bar.  Qualifying winners Marcus Martelly and Simon Joseph each received $50.00 as well as Black&White giveaways on the Night.

Third Round action continued, Saturday March 25th 2017 at 7:30 pm at Kool Vibes Bar, Micoud. Eighteen (18) registrants was recorded on the night. In domino parlance, the easiest night to qualify. For the participants on the night, it proved anything but easy. The final four saw two familiar faces being paired on the night as luck would favor. Kina Mathurin & Dave Charlery – each having made it to the final table in the last two rounds – were paired against Conrad Gaston & Calixtus  Rudolph. The keenly contested series went down to the wire 2-6, 6-4 and 6-5 in favor of Kina Mathurin and Dave Charlery, marking the first nail biter of the tournament.
