The mountain climbing duo of Julian Touissant and Jason Sayers completed a climb of Petit Piton, Mount Gimie and Gros Piton on Saturday.

Sayers told St Lucia Times they completed the Tri-Peak Challenge in a ‘record’ time of 5 hrs and 12 minutes of total climbing time.

The two friends had set out to reduce the time of approximately seven hours of actual climbing time on July 25, 2020, when they did their first Tri-Peak Challenge.

Sayers explained that Saturday’s climb which began at 6:18 am, has some ‘near misses’, including slippages and falls.

He said the duo took on the challenge to push their bodies.

“We are very competitive,” he declared.

Sayers said the climb was also undertaken to raise awareness of the importance of fitness and encourage people to explore Saint Lucia.

“Saint Lucia is a beautiful Island. Let’s get up and explore,” he asserted.

Sayers thanked their sponsors, Blue Waters, Stamina Recovery Drink and LLB, as well as their their support team, 758 Adventurers and the duo’s many well wishers.
