Murdered Canadian Had Relationship With Suspect

Murdered Canadian, Nicole Dempster, was in a relationship with the suspect charged with causing her death.

Police spokeswoman, Anne Joseph, made the disclosure according to CBC News.

Officers have charged Gros Islet resident, Rohan Girard, with Dempster’s murder.

They say Girard is 39 years old.

According to CBC News, Joseph disclosed that the  murdered Canadian had been living here “on and off for about eight years.”

She had married a Saint Lucia resident, with whom she had a child.

But the couple later separated and Dempster had since been in a relationship with Girard.

A post mortem examination found that Nicole Dempster died as a result of ‘blunt force trauma to the head.’

Police said they found the body of the 34-year old about 11:10 p.m. on Sunday.

Law enforcement officers made the discovery after investigators at the Gros Islet police station responded to a report of a homicide.
