Neighbours Pull Elderly Man From Burning Building At Ciceron

Alert neighbours pulled an elderly man from a building at Ciceron, Castries, that was destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon, emergency officials say.

According to the officials, the elderly man and a female occupied the residence.

They told St Lucia Times that the wood and wall structure measured some 15′ X 20′.

“The neighbours pulled the elderly man from the building before it became completely engulfed by flames,” a Saint Lucia Fire Service spokesman explained.

The spokesman said the fire service received a report regarding the blaze about 5.38 pm and responded with two fire trucks and an ambulance.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

  1. can some one explain why the size of the structure is relevant i understand the importance for the fire service but not when reporting an unfortunate and devastating incident.

  2. Good for the neighbours hope they get some kind of recognicion for their act from the mayor.
