Neighbours Pull Elderly Man From Burning Building At Ciceron

Alert neighbours pulled an elderly man from a building at Ciceron, Castries, that was destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon, emergency officials say.

According to the officials, the elderly man and a female occupied the residence.

They told St Lucia Times that the wood and wall structure measured some 15′ X 20′.

“The neighbours pulled the elderly man from the building before it became completely engulfed by flames,” a Saint Lucia Fire Service spokesman explained.

The spokesman said the fire service received a report regarding the blaze about 5.38 pm and responded with two fire trucks and an ambulance.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.
