Bradley Nestor has taken the long way around to make the Saint Lucia national men’s football team.
The 23-year-old forward, both of whose parents are from Castries, could feature in the upcoming Nations League campaign, which kicks off this weekend against one of the stronger teams in Central America, El Salvador.
Nestor grew up in Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A., and has been part of the youth academy for the Major League Soccer franchise, New York Red Bulls.
He has also played in Trinidad and Tobago, before returning to the States to feature for Team Saint Lucia in the New York Caribbean Cup (he scored 8 goals in 2018) and Doxa S.C. in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League (3 goals, 2 assists in 2019). In 2013, as a collegian, he had 10 goals and 11 assists for Bryant & Stratton College (Syracuse).
