The National Insurance Corporation (NIC) Wednesday announced the closure of its Vieux Fort office until further notice, after a member of its team tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the NIC, the Ministry of Health has started the necessary contact tracing and testing of persons identified as being in close contact with the affected employee.
The NIC said in the interest of safeguarding members of the public and the corporation’s dedicated staff, the Vieux Fort office will be closed while all other offices remain open.
“During the period of temporary closure of our Vieux Fort office, we encourage the public to access our services at the Castries main office, Soufriere and Rodney Bay branches as we seek to explore alternative arrangements for our Vieux Fort customers,” according to a corporation statement.
The statement said the NIC apologises for the inconvenience caused to the public.
