Former Soca Monarch, Jonathan ‘Ninja Dan’ St Rose has declared that he is a new and better man as a result of spending some eight years in prison for the slaying of Dwayne ‘Chubby’ James.
“I am elated,” he told the Times.
St Rose, Mervyn Nelson and Lynden Blasse were charged with the February 14, 2009 murder of James of Maynard Hill who succumbed after being stabbed.
He explained that his experience had left him a new and better man.
“I have learnt a lot and I have a new perspective on life- the way I look at people and assess certain circumstances,” the former Soca Monarch said.
He expressed condolences to the relatives of Dwayne ‘Chubby’ James for all they have been through.
“I feel their pain, but we too are victims of circumstances as well because we had to plead guilty just to get our freedom,” St Rose stated.
“At the end of the day God is in charge of everything, so I am going to take it one step at a time,” St Rose told the Times.
He declared his intention to get back into music.
