NWU and Saint Lu Metal and Plastics reach interim settlement

The industrial impasse between the Management of Saint Lu Metals and Plastics Limited and the National Workers Union (NWU) has reached an interim settlement. The conciliatory matter was heard by Mr. Ray Narcisse, Labour Commissioner Tuesday May 10, 2016 at the Department of Labour.

The parties agreed that the company will discontinue the industrial lock out from May 11, 2016. All workers will return to work on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. It was further agreed that all parties will engage each other within one (1) week.

Going forward all industrial conversations will be chaired by the Labour Commissioner. The NWU is of the opinion that the results augur well for subsequent meetings.

The employees have agreed to cooperate in all areas of general production.
