Palestinian engineers and doctors graduated in Venezuela

14 comprehensive doctors and 4 civil engineers of Palestinian nationality, who studied in Venezuela, received their titles on Friday at an event held at Bolivar Theater, located in downtown Caracas.

During the event, broadcast on Friday by state media, fourteen doctors graduated from the Salvador Allende Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM, Spanish acronym); and four engineers, who studied at the National Polytechnic Experimental University of the Armed Forces (UNEFA), as part of the Yasser Arafat scholarship scheme of the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Foundation (Fundayacucho).

As a Palestinian chancellor I could not attend the graduation of my children: one engineer and another doctor, and today I was able to attend the graduation of my 14 medical children and my four engineer children … These professionals who graduated today (Friday) are going to Palestine to work for their people. We are making history, we are creating brotherhood. It is a very important chapter of solidarity between both nations, stressed Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki.

The Palestinian chancellor thanked the national government, led by President Nicolas Maduro, all the support to defend the Palestinian cause in the international arena.

Al-Maliki arrived to the country Wednesday to deepen relations between the two countries. He said that during his visit, on behalf of the Palestinian head of state, Mahmoud Abbas, he will personally deliver a letter to President Nicolas Maduro.

The letter expresses the gratitude of the State of Palestine with President (Nicolas Maduro), its population for the action taken by Venezuela in support of the Palestinian Cause in international affairs, said the Chancellor.
