What is GGP?

In 1989, the Government of Japan introduced Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) in view of the fact that the development needs in less developed countries were increasingly diversifying.

The aim of GGP is to provide financial assistance to non-profit, development-oriented organizations to implement community development projects, which directly benefit people at a grassroots level.

As of April 2016, GGP targets 141 countries and 1 region globally. The amount of the GGP grant, which bases itself on one-time, single-year financing, does not exceed 10,000,000 Japanese Yen (approximately US$100,000 depending on exchange rates).

  1. As long as it’s a “GRANT” I welcome it. How did they pick and narrowed down this school for this grant ?? I am sure a submission would have to be summitted of this school been in dire needs or was it ?? (It’s a political year and Hair Club for Men Felix has not been of late) does he lives there anymore ?? Never the less this only cast a spotlight for the improvements in our schools and where government attention is lacking there off we know the story all too well what’s priority in this country and what they will quick to spend monies on.

    • How come they always get the contracts and seriously how is that not a conflict of interest? Are all due diligence followed and still if conflict of interest delcared insider information and help with bids??#&@:!*#(

Well done to this school tho- while it is welcome to get this funding it is still worrying that basic renovations cannot happen from budgeted state monies. What is the budget being spent on?
