Opposition leader Philip J. Pierre, declaring that his constituents have become his family, has disclosed that being MP for Castries East is one of his greatest honours.
Pierre recalled that four years ago, the people of Castries East re-elected him to serve them as the Member of Parliament for the area.
“Despite all the professional roles that I have held, the title of MP has been one of my life’s greatest honors. My constituents have become my family,” Pierre wrote Saturday on the official Facebook page of the Saint Lucia Labour Party(SLP).
The post was accompanied by photos of the SLP leader interacting with members of his constituency.
“We toast to each other in times of celebration and in difficult times, we uphold each other, offer words of comfort and remain steadfast in our pursuit for a thriving community,” Pierre observed.
He said although the current times are uncertain his constituents can rest assured that his sense of devotion to them never grows weary.
“I will continue to implement projects that are meaningful and beneficial to you. Most importantly, I will continue to meet you and host frank discussions with you as we work side by side to keep Castries East as a place we call home. Politics is about people. My politics is about you,” Pierre declared.
