Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, describing gun trafficking as a ‘massive problem’, has stressed the need to work with the United States to address it.

“We don’t manufacture guns and most of these guns it is said come from the US. It’s a transnational situation. We have got to work with the US to deal with it,” Pierre told reporters.

The Prime Minister, responsible for National Security is just back from Agri-Investment Forum and Expo II  which ended on Sunday in Trinidad and Tobago.

He observed that the twin Island republic had recorded 371 murders and disclosed that the country’s Police Commissioner had appeared on television speaking about the connection with guns coming from the United States.

On the other hand, Saint Lucia has recorded 43 homicides this year, many of them gun-related.

Last week the United States announced a crackdown on illegal gun trafficking to Haiti and the Caribbean.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Miami reported a substantial spike in the number of weapons, along with a big increase in the caliber and type of firearms, being illegally trafficked.

Some weapons included .50 caliber sniper rifles, 308 rifles, and a belt-fed machine gun.

  1. There is no other name under heaven by which man can be Save.
And so John came, baptising in the desert region and St Lucia 🇱🇨and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
Those who keep watching daily at my door knows the time and things that are to be taken place.
When persecution, farmine, violence, crimes, trials….will (has come upon the world, those who do not armed with the word of GOD will quickly falls away ❗
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Sprit, and teaching them to OBEY EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU. AND SURELY I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS,TO THE VERY END OF AGE ❗”

  2. Do your thing Prime Minister work with them and get the info and help you need, don’t be like that Worthless Yellow Clown that can’t even pronounce the world crime TO DATE far less addressing it, the silence on the issue coming from that camp is deafening ,but let Lucians can’t find flour for bread tomorrow you will hear his ole’ mouth how St Lucian’s starving. (Fact) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives ) reported that 80% of weapons flowing into the Caribbean came out of South Florida, so they know but as long as it’s not the other way around with 80 % of guns flowing into America from the Caribbean and see if they don’t care. You notice they will send naval and coast guard ships here to stop the flow of DRUGS coming into America , so why they cant do the same for guns flowing into the Caribbean because you need to understand American Psyche they only want us (the Caribbean) to grow so much and no more than that so they will keep our growth stagnant and dependent at a certain lever and one of the ways they do this is by allowing crime to foster, just as long its not killing Americans.

  3. Yeah I am always willing to help what ever it takes need to start doing something to protect our children and grandchildren and the people in this country point blank and period while u at it we need more investigators on the ground

  4. Mr. Prime Minister we didn’t vote for a parrot we need someone to lead and find solutions for the problems facing the island. BTW how do you know all the guns are arriving directly from the United States to St.Lucia?

      • Yeah Highgrade, there is a big problem! What you are avoiding, desperately, is that the US trying to resolve gun trafficking is like putting the fox in charge of protecting the hen-house! If anything, the US is concerned that anyone might be cutting into their gun-running monopoly – currently, Ukraine is the prime client.

In case you forgot, the US “War on Terror” was actually the US “War of Terror” on all countries which wanted to express their sovereignty, using multiply-changed named Al-CIA-duh groups that were plied with Captagon! Libya, Syria, Yemen, Uzbekistan, Somalia, Belarus, ring a bell?

  5. Am not sure if there is anyone who gets excite when their PM talks. After a whole yr and so many gun related shootings the PM is saying We have to work wIth the US. Did any journalist bother to ask when is he going to start working with the US or what has been done the past yr to reduce crime? or what has they done differently from the previous administration to reduce gun related violence in Lucia.

  6. Man shut the hell up and take responsibilities to govern the country..it’s just saddens my heart to see the response of the most readied pm..Saint lucia is in a mess

      • You too are included in the “bitching” of the current state of SLU. Including your racist and degrading remarks/comments. This is what the comments are for: to “bitch” about issues which affect us.
