Pierre Urges Countrymen To Brace For Challenges Of The New Year

Opposition leader, Philip J. Pierre has urged his countrymen to gear up for the challenges of the new year.

Let us brace ourselves to be ready for the challenges of the year and strive for a Saint Lucia where less people are poor and will be able to enjoy a better quality of life,” the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) leader said.

His comments were made in a  brief New Year’s day message posted on the official Facebook page of the SLP.

On behalf of the SLP and on his own behalf, the Castries East MP wished everyone a ‘productive and healthy’ New Year.


  1. If we don’t brace ourselves; who will do it for us? Certainly not you the politicians! anyway, thanks for reminding us!

Mr. Pierre, why you politicians say all the right things and sound so convincing in opposition but when in office yo do little or nothing to assist people to pull themselves out of a lifetime of poverty? The politicians then move from rags to riches while the poor wallow in hardship and beggarly with no avenue to escape.

  3. Why is this ugly piece a sh$t so negative? What happened to believing? Whats up with the doom and gloom preaching? Where is the optimism? Dude you are so not in touch with this new era. Retire please. The banana days are over.
