Plas Kassav destroyed by fire

Plas Kassav, the well known bakery shop in Anse La Verdure, Canaries, has been destroyed by fire.

Manager, Dahliah Henry, told the Times that the fire started at around 4:00 this morning.

“We just all stood up outside of the business and watched it burning down. We were scared for the house because the business is right next to the house,” Henry told the Times.

She said no one has any idea as to how the fire started.

Henry told the Times that she was the last one to leave the business place after carrying out routine checks.

She disclosed that the Plas Kassav, which is very popular with tourists, has been in existence for over twenty years.

“That is where we get our bread at the end of the day – to provide work for our employees. Right now our employees have to suffer,” Henry lamented.

She observed that deliveries of cassava bread were supposed to have been made today but supermarkets have to be told about the tragedy.

Asked how the family that owns the business will move forward, Henry told the Times:

“God is good. At the end of the day God is going to put it back up. I believe that God is going to raise it up for us.”

She said the business was insured.
