Prime Minister Allen Chastanet Monday paid tribute to the nation’s teachers, urging citizens to take time to recognise Saint Lucia’s teaching heroes.
His remarks came as Saint Lucia joined the rest of the world in observing Monday as World Teacher’s Day, celebrated annually on October 5.
“Even as we enjoy our holiday today let’s also take time out to recognize all our great teachers who are working in extraordinary times and proving that teaching really is a work of the heart,” Chastanet wrote on his official Facebook page.
“Amidst these changing times you have adapted and guided our students. The road ahead is a challenging one for our education system and I know we will get through it because of the teaching heroes we have in Saint Lucia,” the PM stated.
“Take time out this week to recognize and show appreciation to all our teachers past and present who continue to inspire and educate generations,” he declared.
He wished teachers a wonderful, blessed and happy Teacher’s Day.
