Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has announced that construction of the new La Guerre Primary School will soon begin, now that the contract for the project has been signed.
Chastanet made the announcement on his official Facebook page this week.
He disclosed that the is project is being undertaken via the Education Quality Improvement Project.
It will cost of $7.5 million EC and is being funded by the Government of Saint Lucia with co-financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).
According to Prime Minister Chastanet, Construction & Industrial Equipment Ltd has received the contract.
He said the new La Guerre Primary School will comprise a basement, ground and top floor.
The top floor will house 4 class rooms, a library, an IT laboratory and a music room.
On the other hand, the ground floor will house 4 classrooms, a sick bay, staff room and the Principal’s office.
In addition, Chastanet said the basement will house an open breezeway, Male and female washroom facilities and janitorial storage area.
