Prime Minister Allen Chastanet says contrary to what some would like to believe, work has not stopped on the construction of the new St Jude Hospital.
Chastanet disclosed that on Wednesday morning, he conducted one of his regular site visits to the St Jude Hospital Construction site.
He wrote on his official Facebook on Friday that his cabinet colleagues Ezechiel Joseph and Dr. Gale Rigobert accompanied him.
According to the PM, work is currently into the 2nd Phase which mainly involves the production and installation of the building’s cladding panels.
“Over the last few weeks, work has been ongoing to provide skills training to Saint Lucians in the production of these cladding panels. This is ongoing at a separate factory site near to the hospital construction site,” Chastanet observed.
He explained that a total of 800 cladding panels are needed, 150 of which have been produced so far.
“All things remaining equal, production should be completed in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, work at the hospital site continues,” the Prime Minister said.
