Prime Minister Allen Chastanet says people can make the job of this country’s frontliners a bit easier by following COVID-19 protocols and getting vaccinated.
He made the comments against the backdrop of the recent observance of the 1st year anniversary of the full commissioning of the OKEU Hospital.
“We marked this major milestone by hosting awards ceremonies in recognition of the invaluable work and sacrifice which our Frontliners and staff of both the Victoria Hospital and the OKEU Hospital as well as the Cuban nurses, technicians and doctors have done to help us combat the COVID-19 pandemic,” Chastanet wrote on his official Facebook page.
“We can never say Thank You enough to our frontliners,” he observed.
Health and Wellness Minister, Mary Isaac, also praised Saint Lucia’s frontliners.
She told the anniversary observance that their good coordination and hard work contributed to the successful transition to the OKEU Hospital.
“At the end of it all, it can be written in our history that the move was well coordinated, flawless and a great success,” Isaac stated.
The first anniversary celebration was held under the theme, “Transition we have: Continued good health and safety we will.”
