Prime Minister Allen Chastanet says he did the right thing in getting the COVID-19 jab, despite his own concerns about the vaccine.
“Just like some of you, I had my own concerns about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine,” he wrote on his official Facebook page.
“However, after carrying out my own research, seeking advice and clarity from medical professionals and being a responsible son, father, husband and leader I did the right thing and got vaccinated,” Chastanet declared.
“Getting vaccinated is currently the most effective action that we can take to get our lives back to some level of normalcy and back to doing some of the things that we miss so much,” he explained.
On Monday, the PM received his second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
Afterwards, he laded the work being done by frontliners.
Chastanet said that he will forever remain grateful to them.
“Our country will always be indebted to you for your daily sacrifices,” Chastanet asserted.
As of April 26, 2021 a total of 24, 014 individuals had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
And 595 individuals had received the second dose.
