The Rodney Bay Highway Expansion Project is yet another ‘long overdue’ road improvement project which aims to improve the flow of traffic in this busy area, says Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet.
He says given the fact that over 24,000 vehicles pass through the area on a daily basis, it has led to the loss of many productive hours due to traffic congestion whilst also being a hazard to pedestrians.
Writing on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, the PM observed that Phase 1 of the project is well underway.
It entails the widening of the road to accommodate 4 lanes of traffic, improved drainage, pedestrian sidewalks and roundabouts.
Weather permitting, the first phase of the project is expected to be completed by year end.
Phase 2 includes the construction of road walkovers, the placement of median barriers and improved road lighting.
