Prime Minister, Philip J, Pierre, has thanked cultural ambassadors here in Saint Lucia and abroad for keeping this country’s culture alive.

“A special mention to Ms. Yannette Oshun James, a young talented artiste who last evening coordinated a wonderful tribute to La Wòz which was aired on various media,” Pierre wrote on his official Facebook page on Sunday.

The Castries East MP made the remarks after the parishioners of the Sacred Heart Church in Marchand witnessed ‘ a show of our cultural splendour during our Sunday morning mass to commemorate the Rose Festival’ to be observed the following day.

The PM said the observance would be with reduced fanfare as Saint Lucia grapples with containing the COVID-19 virus.

In this regard, Pierre urged members of the public to observe the protocols and get vaccinated so ‘we can get back to the things we love’.
