Prime Minister Allen Chastanet will deliver a video message at an event to rename part of a Dallas street after the late Botham Jean.
Confirmation has come from Chastanet’s office.
Some four miles of Lamar Street in Southern Dallas will be renamed Botham Jean Boulevard.
The March 27 renaming received unanimous approval from the Dallas City Council, local reports say.
Jean, 26, died after off duty police officer, Amber Guyger, shot him in his own apartment.
Guyger claimed she mistook his apartment for hers when the shooting occurred in 2018.
And she said she thought the Saint Lucian national was an intruder.
But on October 1, 2019 a court sentenced her to 10 years in prison for murder.
However Guyger has appealed her conviction.
As a result, the Fifth District Court of Appeals will take up her case in April.
