PM Updates Medical Fraternity On OKEUH

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet met the new executive of the Saint Lucia Medical & Dental Association along with officials from the Ministry of Health & Wellness, to update them on the Owen King EU Hospital (OKEUH).

The meeting was held last week.

“During our meeting I took the opportunity to apprise the medical professionals about the ongoing opening of the OK-EU Hospital expected to be complete by the fourth quarter of this year,” Chastanet wrote on his official Facebook page.

He observed that five departments have since moved from Victoria Hospital to the OKEUH.

The PM said those in attendance at the meeting were also updated on developments at the St Jude Hospital reconstruction project which will begin “in the coming days.”

“Work is also continuing for the introduction of National Health Insurance, the upgrading of 17 Health centers throughout the island and ongoing preparation for the construction of the polyclinic in Dennery, health centres in Micoud Village & Anse la Raye as well as the new Soufriere Hospital,” Chastanet disclosed.

  1. At least people are being informed. Such neglect the last 20 yrs cannot be resolved in 5 yrs, but the ppl are being informed. I must say I applaud the PM for such a move.

  2. More bluff and flashing mirrors. You can’t complete any of the existing hospital structures in 3 years and you now want to create miracles in 18 months? Wow
