Prime Minister Allen Chastanet Sunday led a delegation on tour of the proposed site in Dennery for a new Saint Lucia drag racing facility.

“The sport of Drag Racing in Saint Lucia has become synonymous with “the Base” or what it is more commonly known as the “Cacabef”,” Chastanet observed in a post Monday on his official Facebook page.

However he noted that because work on the new Hewanorra International Airport project has commenced and includes the site of the “Cacabef” as part of the  initiative, the authorities  are working with local Motorsport entrepreneurs and enthusiasts to find a new permanent home for motorsports.

“We are committed to working together to make this a reality and I thank the Motorsports community for their cooperation and support to help develop and take the sport to the next level,” Chastanet stated.
