Two suspects are currently in police custody in connection with a Tuesday morning robbery attempt at Dr Freezers ice cream parlour and fast food outlet on High Street, Castries.

Law enforcement officials say the suspects from Wilton’s yard and Bagatelle, Castries,  were arrested shortly after two males who entered the business establishment and attempted to take cash, fled when an armed guard at another business place nearby opened fire.

No one was reported injured as the intruders left empty handed.

However emergency personnel confirmed to St Lucia Times that an ambulance transported a female staff member to OKEU Hospital because she was suffering from ‘an anxiety attack’ as a result of the robbery attempt at her work place.

Last month, two masked bandits, one of them brandishing a firearm, robbed the Dr Freezers High Street branch of an undisclosed sum of money.

The robbery was caught on CCTV cameras.
