Police say they broke up a River ‘lime’ at Dennery early Friday morning, instructing the people who had gathered to disperse.

A law enforcement official told St Lucia Times that the estimated crowd of some 15 people complied.

As a result, the official disclosed the police did not arrest anyone.

Just this week, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sharon Belmar-George reminded the public that the authorities had not recommended or approved mass crowd activities or ‘open socialisation.’

Belmar-George also said that although the Ministry of Health notes the flattening of the COVID-19 third wave, there are still over one hundred active cases in country.

Prime Minister Allen Chastanet during a radio interview Thursday asserted that people appear to be getting overconfident.

He made specific reference to individuals going to the beach and attending ‘river limes’ and house parties.
