Police Confirm Six Arrests In Seizure Of Guns, Masks And Other Items

Press Release:– The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has continued to record successes in our fight against gun violence.

During an operation conducted on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, on Martin Luther King Street in Vieux Fort, five firearms and a wide range of ammunition were recovered at a residence.

The firearms recovered included an AR15 Rifle and four pistols (three 9mm and one .40mm).

About 110 rounds of ammunition, of varying calibre, were also recovered by officers during the operation.

Additionally, several black ski masks, two bulletproof vests, as well as a quantity of controlled drugs, were confiscated.

A series of operations conducted in the Dennery village, commencing in may 5, 2021, resulted in the recovery of one Smith and Wesson pistol, with 7 rounds of ammunition and one Taurus 9mm pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition.

Two bulletproof vests were found and seized by officers.

Six individuals were arrested during the conduct of the operations and charges are expected to be preferred in short order.
