On Tuesday, 5 July 2022, Commissioner of Police Milton Desir, along with members of the executive of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, Commanders of the Special Services Unit, the Police Marine Unit, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Band, and several gazetted officers, with responsibility for stations and Departments across the island, reported to the Headquarters of the Southern Division in Vieux Fort.

The Commissioner of Police led the team in patrols of the Vieux Fort town and surrounding areas, where they visited businesses, financial institutions, educational institutions, and community members.

The visit included patrols of the communities of Bruceville, WestHall Group, and Bacaderre, in addition to patrols of key areas such as Clarke Street and the Fishing Complex.

During the patrols, the officers spoke with individuals about their concerns during the recent upsurge of criminal activities. The officers received a warm reception and they dialogued with members of the business community and residents alike.

The senior management of the Force got first hand feedback from them on the fear of crime and the financial cost of crime to the affected communities and businesses.

This activity proved extremely fruitful in charting a detailed policing plan for the Division. The exercise formed part of the policing strategy for Vieux Fort, and the objective of engaging affected parties and stakeholders in the fight against crime was achieved.

The Commissioner of Police wishes to thank all persons who contributed meaningfully towards the initiative, and the residents of Vieux Fort for their facilitation.

  1. What I have said, that will bring about ; what I have planned, that will do.
Listen to me, those with stiff neck and stubborn-hearted 🖤(rebellious from birth)…
Remember this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, though one cries no one to interverne (answer)to save them from their troubles.
    Remember the former things, those of long ago ;
I am GOD,and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the begining, from ancient times,(what is still to come.
    I say :
My purpose will stand and I will do all that I please.
❗From the east I summon a bird of prey ; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose.
What I have planned, that will I do.
❗”Turn to me and be SAVED,all you ends of the earth ; for I am GOD, and there is no other.
By myself I have sworn,my mouth 🌀 has uttered in intergrity.

  2. Great way to communicate with the community on a next level of conversation with the people especially in their businesses more securely and privately! Can’t someone create a community anonymous WhatsApp group where neighbors can join they can speak anonymously and instantaneously for assistance to and from authorities type in a unanimous code u all come up with together! No!? To alert one time ofpapishow how and where it’s goin down….smph

  3. Word to the “nay sayers” – at least “something” was done; maybe not accomplished. Instead of pointing fingers and badmouthing behind your hands (known as criticising) – SOLUTIONS should have been offered.

As for me – I have no solutions, since I was not privey to what was communicated between the “brass” and the community stakeholders. It would have been good to know, at least, what was spoken about, and what considerations are at stake for the betterment of the community of Vieux Fort. My only concern was that KDA was not present – he should’ve been part of the party.

  4. My entire talking life, I never knew members of the police band were actual members of the force. I just thought they were musicians who worked for the police but marched while playing.

  5. I am under the impression it’s the 1st of April it’s this a joke???

What the hell are you going to accomplish by this except for a photo op. You need to stop insulting the Lucian people stop taking us for fools.

  6. Pathetic!! Is what you call this action by the hierarchy of the RSLPF. This tells me that they have lost all control of the men and women under their command and must therefore patrol the streets themselves. We expect leadership in this time of crisis not comedy. You mean to tell me they had to come to patrol the streets of Vieux Fort to find out the impact of the gun violence on the town? The most retarded of us know how the gun violence affects the town. We definitely need new leadership and new ideas in this organization.

    • yes their big bellies and big mouths. if they were doing this patrol often or at least once or twice in a while certain places would not be like this. Look for instance when there were these shootings on the Chaussee in Castries you would see mizi police. go there now and see if any police even passing there.
