Police Identify Dennery Resident Fatally Shot By Cop

Police have identified a Dennery resident whom an officer fatally shot on Friday afternoon as Lester Gaston, 42.

Reports from Gadette, Dennery, say a police officer intervened in a dispute between two male individuals in the area.

HTS Evening News on Friday quoted a source as indicating that the two men were involved in an argument.

But when the argument escalated, they began hurling stones at each other, the source disclosed.

Residents say the police eventually intervened, with the result that an officer shot one of the men who died at the scene.

One resident said all of the individuals involved were from the same community of Gadette.

An investigation into the fatal shooting is currently underway.
