Police say they have charged Blaine Girard with one count of possession of an illegal firearm, two counts of possession of ammunition and three counts of possession of controlled drugs, as well as three counts of intent to supply.
Law enforcement officials disclosed that the 42 year old Cap Estate resident who is originally from Jacmel, was in an SUV in which officers found what they believed to be cocaine.
Officers intercepted the vehicle about 2.00 pm near the Vendors Arcade in Castries, eyewitnesses said.
According to investigators, when police searched Girard’s home they found a firearm, ammunition and a quantity of suspected cannabis.

He is expected to appear in court on Thursday morning.
