A police officer was rushed to hospital Friday after a road accident at Rodney Bay about 5:10 pm, it has been reported.

Law enforcement sources have identified the injured officer as Edley George.

According to information provided by the emergency services, George was traversing the road when he was hit by a motor scooter.

The officer was reported in stable condition after the accident.

A law enforcement official told St Lucia Times that the scooter rider has been arrested.

Friday’s accident occurred just hours after National Security Minister, Hermangild Francis, urged the Police Commissioner and his officers to enforce traffic laws in a ‘no nonsense’ manner.

Francis, a former police officer, declared that more and more drivers are ‘brazenly and carelessly’ breaking the law.

He was at the time addressing a commissioning ceremony for three new ambulances for the Saint Lucia Fire Service.

  1. The Lord is merciful, forgiving and most importantly loving, he is not a man that he should lie or a man that he should repent, his word is; yes, and amen. So, let us wake up from our slumber and choose whom we will serve. If you serve him he will no doubt take care of all aspects of your life.
He is angry at those who serve other gods and will not call on his name like the forefathers did, he has given them time to repent but they would not, therefore, he shall judge them, he shall burn their cities with fire.
Psalm 139:14 states that, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. If you seek him diligently, you shall find him.

  2. This police should still be o. Suspension..cause he still got a case pending in court ..following an an lawfull shootin of a young man from rock hall…yet still he is still in uniform workin a police. …Karma……

    • Calm you IDIOTIC DEGENERATE, what does that have to do with a fellow human being getting struck down by a motor vvehicle? You didn’t say the guy he shot was a known criminal and a menace to the community he was leaving in. You also didn’t state that he struck the officers mother in the head leaving her bloodied and hospitalised. And for you information the case have gone through the system and resolved.

    • Did the criminal he shoot die? If he did not then the officer should lose 1 day of pay for that. When you get these criminals make sure they do not become a public burden anymore. No sympathy from me.

    • @ CALM JACKASS Don’t speak on something you have no knowledge about. And his case Is not ongoing anymore. He shot the guy because he was pounding on HIS MOTHER what’s unlawful about that and the guy was resisting arrest.

@ boiboi the menace he shot is still roaming the streets stealing and causing disruption in the community he got what he deserve. If it was your *** he robbed you will be crying the police not helping to solve crime.

  3. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
