According to eyewitnesses, Donavan Evans, whom people also knew as ‘Mong’, was on new Dock Road, Vieux Fort, when masked gunmen opened fire.

A medical doctor pronounced  him dead shortly afterwards.

Evans, 30, of Clarke Lane, Vieux Fort, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

A resident of the community who spoke on condition of anonymity told St Lucia Times that ‘Movado’ was in the company of another male when the shooting occurred.

However, the companion was not on the scene when the police arrived, the resident disclosed.

The individual also disclosed that apparently, the gunmen were monitoring a police foot patrol.

The patrol had left the area to go elsewhere when the crime occurred, the resident explained.
