Police say they have launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of a male at Roseau Monday afternoon after 1:00 p.m.
A law enforcement official said the victim died on the scene, but could provide no further information.
Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) Communications Officer, Stacy Joseph, disclosed that officers at Fire Service Headquarters in Castries responded to an emergency call at approximately 1:55 p.m.
“The information received stated that there was an alleged shooting incident at Roseau. The emergency crew found on scene a male individual lying on the ground in the presence of police officers,” Joseph disclosed.
She said that an assessment of the patient revealed that he sustained several penetrating
wounds to his body.
But Joseph explained that due to the obvious signs of death, the scene was left in the care of the police.
There are no further details at this time.
