The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has issued a reminder to the public to adhere to the current COVID-19 protocols, particularly the curfew and social gathering restrictions, in order to assist in curbing the rise in cases on island.
“With the number of positive cases recorded daily, it is imperative that we all play our part in reducing the spread,” a statement Friday from the RSLPF said.
“Members of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force will be deployed around the island with the intention of ensuring adherence. This will include check points in various locations,” the statement disclosed.
“The motoring public is asked to ensure that, not only all registration and insurance documents are in order, but also identification as an essential worker, for travel during the curfew hours,” it said.
The statement added that anyone who is found in violation may face charges .
“As such we ask that persons with no reasonable cause to be outdoors refrain from doing so,” the release said, while thanking all for their continued cooperation and urging citizens to stay safe.
